is driving me mad. perhaps its because i’m refusing to download itunes 9.
whenever i turn on ‘shuffle’, sometimes i actually get a shuffle of all my music. but sometimes i get the same exact shuffle mix that i had the previous day, which, whether it was a good mix or not it’s annoying.
also, if i have a duplicate of a song, it’s being played right after the other.
for example, i was listening to sufjan steven’s ‘chicago’ from the illinoise album. well i also have the avalanche album, which is nothing but redos of songs from the illinoise album. so after ‘chicago’ played, it then started to play the acoustic version. and then the instrumental version. etc.
i thought it was a weird until i noticed it happens EVERY TIME to EVERY song i have a different version of or even just a duplicate from another album.
i’m very annoyed about it.
also, lately to get around it i’ve been using the genius playlist, which pulls out some really great stuff every now and then, but that thing is starting to get annoying as well. i don’t like how you have to pick a song first [9 times out of 10 i’m driving! bad idea..] and then it plays certain artists multiple times. i thought the idea of a playlist or a mix was to not do that? and it doesn’t ever branch out and surprise me of what will play next.
i’m just unhappy about both. i remember a day when shuffle worked beautifully and i was reminded of old, but awesome music that i forgot i even had, and i had no idea what would play next. those were the days i suppose.
